Bosch Tassimo Coffee Maker
Imagine this: You wake up, head still reeling from the all-nighter you just pulled, when you look over to your bedside table and realize that you only have less than an hour to get to work. Stumbling out of bed, you hurriedly go through your morning rituals and get dressed. You then decide to have a quick cup just before you leave the house; a latte sounds about right. However, your coffee maker, versatile as it may be, has to be programmed manually to give you the latte you want lest you would settle for plain old regular coffee. Wouldn’t it be convenient, you think, to have a coffee maker which gives you just what you want without all the hassle? If you are one of the many coffee maker owners who know exactly what I’m talking about, then you need look no further than Bosch Tassimo Coffee Maker.
Tassimo Coffee Maker machines, developed by Kraft Foods Inc. and manufactured by Bosch beginning August 2008, use proprietary T-Discs (Tassimo Discs). These T-Discs are essentially coffee pods with barcodes printed on them that allow the machine to adjust its settings automatically to give you just the right blend you’re looking for. They are offered in a wide range of brands and beverage varieties, among them Maxwell House, Gevalia, and even Starbucks, with more brands and varieties in the international market.
How it works is, you place these T-Discs on the disc holders as you would a DVD on a DVD player (with the sole difference of the T-Disc having a tab which sticks out). You then push down on the cover of the disc holder, press the button, and voilà: instant coffee/tea/cappuccino/hot chocolate/whatnot.
As an added convenience — and despite the seemingly rigid nature of an automated system — you may also adjust the strength and amount of your cup of coffee in a similarly hassle-free manner. Simply press and hold on the button once the machine is on standby mode until you reach your desired water level.
It is also quite easy to clean your Bosch Tassimo Coffee Maker. A reusable cleaning disc is provided with the product, which need only be used once a week. You merely insert it in the machine as you would a regular T-Disc. A soft damp cloth should be used to wipe the barcode reader clean. Finally, you may also hand wash all the removable parts; and barring the water container, they are also dishwasher-safe.
There are three models of Bosch Coffee Maker Tassimo available: the basic model Tassimo T20; the Tassimo Suprema T45, which has a built-in water filtration system and a larger water tank; and the Tassimo LCD Premium T65 which, in addition to the T45 features, has a convenient LCD display and an LED cup stand light. The T20 goes for a SRP of $99.99, the T45 for $139.99, and the T65 for $169.99. These are available in most department stores and specialty stores, and may also be ordered via www.tassimodirect.com.
